Figure

It took many years to realise I am not really a photographer - I'm a documentarian, a journalist, and an artist - my camera is just a medium.

The stages of understanding the direction of my practice formed gradually with exploring places through my lens when growing up in my home town with friends and then years later on the streets of Liverpool as a bike courier. I was photographing interesting visual occurrences in my life but didn't understand why; I just liked how things looked. Deeper meanings, approaches and artistic philosophies never crossed my mind.

This series of photographs are candid images taken across Merseyside and Lancashire on 35mm film.
